Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, Penang

18.02.2011 @ Cheong Fatt Tze Mansion, Penang. " The Cheong Fatt Tze mansion, is a Grand Mansion conceived and constructed by a Grand Man; an eminent edifice which History calls Home; a peerless paradigm of the Paradigm Chinese Courtyard House – the Cheong Fatt Tze “Blue” Mansion has been perfectly poised for over a century on firm foundations of architectural, cultural and historic superlatives. Essentially an ‘heirloom with rooms’, today, the Mansion readily bequeaths its charms to visitors who are able to indulge in Exclusive Heritage Homestays; Guided Tours; and Tailored Functions on its premises. Reputedly the favourite home of the “Last Mandarin and First Capitalist of China”, the Mansion is undoubtedly the favourite home of George Town. " this is how it was described in the web of cheong fatt tze mansion.

For us, this place is not really a visitor friendly place as it has a time schedule for touring and needed to accumulate people to proceed the guided tours into the mansion. This is so not convenient for us as we need to wait for other people at the gate under the hot sun, and also if you are late and the tour has started, u need to come back on certain time. It is not allowed to take any pictures inside the house during the tour that was been told by the guard who selling the ticket at the gate and not only that, whoever not paying for the tour into the mansion, they are not allowed to have photo taken even just walking a little steps further around the house at the garden. However, I managed to snap some good angles from the gate with my zoom2 lens, and im so satisfy with the shots, we can't take any pictures inside the Mansion anway even with the tour, so i guess taking pictures just outside the mansion is good enough for people like us :) nevertheless, i love the blue color!

The Chocolate Boutique certainly my favourite place. Once u enter the house, the Courtesy of staff will greet you welcome to chocolate boutique. so many japanese tourists from one coach to another entering the house, so pack and all staff really well-train speaking Japanese fluently!! doing a serious business here!! Anyway, a friendly staff bring us around to each shelving for chocolate tasting, introducing their famous chocolates. After touring, we are free to go around and choose our chocolate, not to forget the famous Koon Kee Penang White Coffee....ah ha.....saying to us "NO photo inside".....that was before we buy anything, and after we bough something, they got nothing to say!.
